Bruce Power is being honoured with two Stevie? Awards from the 17th annual International Business Awards?.
The company’s acclaimed creative strategy team is receiving a Silver award in the Best Annual Report category for its 2020 Powering The Future report. Bruce Power’s We’re Here for You communication campaign during the early stages of the COVID-19 health crisis is being honoured with a Bronze award in the Most Valuable Corporate Response category.
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2020 IBAs received entries from organizations in 63 countries and territories.
As the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will prevent winners from receiving their awards on stage during a traditional gala IBA banquet, winners will be celebrated instead during a virtual ceremony on December 1. ?
“Bruce Power is proud of the commitment to excellence shown by our employees and contractors every day, and that extends to the work performed by the very talented people in our creative strategy department,” said John Peevers, Director, Community and Media Relations and Economic Development. “Their work plays a huge role in allowing us to effectively communicate with the women and men at our facilities and the people who live in and visit our communities, so we’re thrilled to see them being honoured by the International Business Awards.
“Congratulations to our creative strategy team of Erin Grandmaison, Stacey Hill, Dustin Pringle and Kathleen Scott on earning this well-deserved recognition as Stevie Awards winners.”
The creative strategy’s work on the annual report and the Coronavirus communication campaign was also recognized earlier this summer by the American Inhouse Design Awards.
More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others. This year’s competition also featured a number of free-to-enter categories to recognize organizations’ and individuals’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Retooling (Bruce Power’s) capacity and resources on a large scale seems very impressive,” wrote one of the judges in the COVID response category. “The fact that this amounts to one of Canada’s largest private sector donations is noteworthy. The deliverables are very creative as well, especially the mask FAQs.”
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from July through early September.
“Despite the unprecedented impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on organizations and working people worldwide, the number and quality of nominations we received in this year’s International Business Awards attests to the continued outstanding performance of many organizations,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher. “The commitment we’ve seen through these nominations to maintaining the success, health, and safety of employees, customers, and communities is truly impressive.”
